| DETAILS |
The American Akita, sometimes known simply as Akita, is a somewhat large spitz breed of dog that has its origin from Japan in the mountainous northern regions. The Akita can come in almost all type of colors. They have a short double coat that is similar to other northern Spitz breeds.
The Akita has a height around 25 to 29 inches and weighs between 65 to 125 pounds, with females being somewhat smaller than males. The head has a broad shape, with a deep muzzle, upright ears, and dark small eyes. The chest is deep with a body that is longer than the dog is tall at the shoulder, and the tail is large, full, and carried over to the back with a slight curl. |
